Olyvia is the studio’s newest teacher whose passion lies in Acro. Having started dance when she was only 6 she decided jazz just wasn’t enough she wanted to tumble. Gymnastics was her original calling and she was asked to go competitive almost instantly. After 13 years and several medals including gold all around at a provincial qualifier she got involved in dance again as well as cheerleading both competitively and on the field. With experience in Jazz, Tap, Acro, Ballet, Modern, and Line Dancing you could say she is well rounded! She took dance as her major in University and after an unfortunate injury she pursued her love for teaching. She coached competitive level gymnasts for several years as well as trampoline working with ages 18 months to 18 years. She also ran a competitive cheerleading program getting the chance to choreograph many routines. Olyvia also had the privilege to work for Paramount Canada’s Wonderland in the entertainment program as a dancer/tumbler. She was able to represent her hometown Hamilton while she was on the Hamilton Tiger Cats Cheerleading Team travelling to many places including Edmonton where she performed at the Grey Cup. She also had the incredible experience working for Disney on a cruise ship entertaining children and running talent shows every cruise. After taking a small break from the industry to tackle her biggest accomplishment her baby boy Preston, it seems she always ends up back in it! She is very excited to build the Acro program here at A New DAEI Dance School and can’t wait to inspire dancers to achieve their goals!
